Qualified Instructors

Cycling Scotland recognise and run courses for instructors in line with the National Standard or current best practice. The instructors are likely to be operating either on-road or off-road. The instructors can be grouped by local authority based on either their address or area of operation.

On-Road instructors have a national standard "Cycle Training" qualification and will provide cycle-proficiency or cycle training lessons for adults and children.

Off-Road instructors will have either the SMBLA Trail Cycle Leader or Mountain Bike Leader qualifications or the CTC MTB Leader or MTB Instructor qualifications. These instructors will lead mountain bike activities or deliver the Go MTB proficiency scheme.

For information on instructors throughout the rest of the UK, CTC maintain a list of national standard cycle trainers here.
