Jim Riach
I am the Education Manager with Cycling Scotland and Chairman of the Scottish Mountain Bike Leaders Association (SMBLA).
I have been involved in cycle instructor training for over 20 years, I led on the initial programme for the SMBLA which now has over 7000 candidates registered with it.

I have worked as a coach educator for British and Scottish Cycling and have led on the development of Cycle Training programmes in Scotland.
Our most recent initiative is Go Mountain Bike a 5 level mountain bike proficiency scheme which was launched at the Fort William World Cup in 2010. If you are an existing mountain bike instructor you can register your interest through our online booking.
I enjoy many outdoor pursuits particularly canoeing and journeys into wilderness areas.
